LOST Season 5 Countdown

2 bright shiny new shows from Fox

No LOST tonight. But good things come to those who wait obsessively - watching the double header next week will be awesome. In the meantime, I'm already looking forward to 2 new shows.

One is from Joss Whedon, of Buffy/Angel/Firefly television, called Dollhouse. This stars Eliza Dushku, who played Faith on Buffy and Angel, Amy Acker, also of Angel, and Tahmoh Penikett, who is Helo on Battlestar Galactica. The premise: 5 people have all their memories wiped clean, and are programmed to become anybody their 'buyer' wants. Afterwards, they go back to the 'Dollhouse' and have their memories erased again. Dollhouse will start midseason, in January. The trailer is pretty exciting, see it here.

The other new Fox show is called Fringe, and it is from J.J. Abrams, of LOST/Alias television. Fringe stars Joshua Jackson, and has an X-files crossed with CSI feel. Starts this fall. The opening sequence of the trailer reminded me strongly of another show I adore. See what you think of it.

Both shows, Fox claims, will be nearly an hour long. Normally a show that airs on tv with commercials is about 42 minutes long. These two new shows will be about 55 minutes long, with only a total of 5 minutes of commercials - like full length shows you'd see on HBO or Showtime.

Are these coming this Fall? The Dollhouse reminds me a bit of the book I'm reading just now.
